Injustice brings about the ruin of civilization - By: Ibn Khaldoun: Government officials who collect unjustified taxes commit an injustice, those who infringe upon people's rights commit an injustice, and those who steal people's property by force commit an injustice. If a state suffers from all of these acts, civilization is detroyed, and people have lost all incentive to re-establish it. It should be known that this was the wisdom of the Lawgiver when he forbade injustice; He aimed at stopping the resulting destruction and ruin of civilization, which ultimately permits the eradication of the human species. Establishing civilization is why the Islamic jurisprudence emphasized the five necessary preservations: faith, life, intellect, progeny, and property.
